OODLES OF UNICORN SKETCHES, 128K OF RAM, & ONE PESKY BROTHER
As a child, I spent most of my free time drawing awkward characters of my deserving brother and unicorns leaping over rainbows — all eventually showcased on my mother’s refrigerator. When I was twelve, my father bought my first Macintosh computer equipped with 128K of RAM, MacPaint software, and a new tool called the mouse. After years of proud bit-mapped caricatures and oodles of unicorn sketches, I decided to take things to the next level. Years of study later (while discovering my unicorns were not ‘all that’), I graduated earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in Graphic Design.
I began my career as a Graphic Designer and Illustrator working for Authentic Images creating collectible products for star athletes and Disney Characters. After developing a solid understanding of the print process, I moved on to work for KFMB Stations as a Senior Designer. At KFMB I gained substantial knowledge of website design, working directly with clients, and collaborating among team members. There I realized how much I really enjoyed both the project and the process.
I then took a leap of faith to pursue full-time my freelance business. The decision could not have been a better fit for my family and for me. And, although I have yet to be commissioned to illustrate unicorns leaping over rainbows, I still love what I do!
